Curso de verano sobre la cultura india y Espiritualidad - Día 3 final.
| El Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior organizó un Curso de Verano sobre el tema de la cultura india y la espiritualidad del 10 junio-12 junio del 2011 en Prashanti Nilayam. Los estudiantes y el personal de todos los campus del Instituto, participaron en este programa. Día 3 (12 de junio 2011): Las actas de la última y tercera jornada del curso de verano en la cultura india y la espiritualidad, comenzó con el Canto de las Sagradas Escrituras por un grupo de profesores y alumnos del Instituto a las 8.30 horas en el auditorio Poornachandra en Prashanti Nilayam. *Dr. Naren Ramji, el Secretario cuarto de la institución y un ex alumno del instituto, fue el primer orador de la jornada que habló sobre el tema "Visión y Misión de ISSSES". El orador cito discursos que definen la visión que Bhagaván puso en el Instituto, otorgando tanto el conocimiento del mundo, así como el conocimiento del Yo. Dijo que si la educación tiene que jugar fructuosamente su papel en la elevación y el mejoramiento de la sociedad, entonces primero deben convertirse en mejores seres humanos, ya que la verdadera transformación sólo viene a través del ejemplo personal. Al expresar su opinión sobre la forma en que Bhagavan Baba construyó el espíritu del Instituto , que hoy rige como el ideal en todo el mundo, dijo que el Señor nunca abrumo a los administradores con la idea completa de la obra maestra que quería construir, pero realizo su obra de un solo golpe . En el proceso, el Señor ha dejado muy claro que su medio de instrucción es la disciplina, que no es sino la práctica de hacer lo correcto, en el momento justo, de la manera correcta. Pero esta auto-disciplina no puede ser forzada desde fuera, tiene que venir desde dentro, para ser gratificante en la forma prevista. Para acreditar cómo Bhagaván obliga a veces a sus alumnos para desarrollar una conexión interna con él, narró una experiencia personal en donde el Señor, se separó de ellos, para enseñarles la eficacia de la oración. Alentó a los estudiantes a una introspección, en un espíritu de indagación, de por qué un ritual o de una disciplina tal , ha sido adoptado por Bhagavan para sus alumnos, para hacer el mejor uso de los mismos, convirtiéndolos en un trampolín para llegar a él. En este viaje, el orador afirmó , debemos tener Saburi , la paciencia con la actitud correcta, que cambia la vida. Esta transformación, que afirmó fue la verdadera libertad, donde nuestra paz interior y la felicidad no depende de ninguna externalidad. Concluyó diciendo que a los ojos de Bhagaván, hay una diferencia entre un estudiante del Instituto y otros estudiantes, y es que todos deben tratar de ser sus alumnos, poniendo en práctica las enseñanzas que con tanto amor nos otorgo. *El segundo orador de la jornada, la Sra. Rajeshwari Patel, jefe de delegación, del Departamento de Inglés, del Instituto Anantapur , habló sobre el tema, "mezcla de Ciencia y Espiritualidad en el ISSSES". El orador elocuente comenzó con una nota emocional, diciendo que, como en el siglo 20 las dificultades de los tiempos, traen la mejor de las poesías, que los devotos de Bhagavan debe ofrecer lo mejor que podemos, de nuestras respectivas capacidades, como una ofrenda a nuestro Señor omnipresente. Reiteró que era imposible alcanzar la felicidad para la humanidad, a menos que hubiera un aumento concomitante en su sabiduría, en armonía con su aumento en el conocimiento. Refiriéndose a las dificultades morales y espirituales del siglo 20, sostuvo que lamentablemente el progreso material, ha ido en conjunto con la regresión moral y espiritual, lo que resulta en una pérdida neta para la humanidad. Hizo un llamamiento a la comunidad científica a tomar en su ámbito la exploración del universo en el hombre y a comprenderse a sí mismo más integral. En ese sentido, exhortó a la fraternidad de la educación para tomar el Vedanta como punto de referencia de este punto de vista, explorando no sólo la kshetra, el mundo exterior, que es como un campo, sino también kshetragya, el timón de ese campo - Dios mismo. Felicitó a los estudiantes del instituto sagrado, por estar en un sistema de educación donde los valores se difunden en la enseñanza de cada materia, por la inspiración de Bhagavan Baba. Dijo que este es el diagrama opuesto a la lucha entre la Iglesia y la comunidad científica en el siglo 20, donde la comunidad científica carecían de un conocimiento básico del mundo espiritual y viceversa. El orador erudito, citando ampliamente a los decanos de la literatura Inglesa, alegó que tenemos que unir los dos mundos en uno sano, tenemos que avanzar de manera constante desde el reino de los alimentos - la kosa annamaya- al reino de la Felicidad - la Anandamaya kosa en el centro de nuestro ser. Esta es la naturaleza del Alma, que define Bhagavan como el más fundamental, el núcleo más elemental de nuestro ser. *El siguiente orador de la jornada fue el Dr. Ravi T. Kumar, nombrado recientemente director del Instituto Campus Brindavan . En su elocuente discurso sobre "la Vida de Bhagavan - su papel como un estudiante ideal y un Maestro ideal", compartió algunos de sus bellos momentos ,que paso con Bhagaván en Ooty. Reiteró a la comunidad estudiantil que uno debe practicar antes de enseñanza a otros, como fue ejemplificado por Bhagavan en su vida. A continuación, recordó el incidente en el que Bhagavan materializó un medallón con 100 shlokas sánscritos grabado en ella, que representan el futuro de 18 centros, que dirigen las fuerzas de sus alumnos. Dijo que la vida de Swami siempre ha sido un libro abierto y recordó que el año pasado Swami había compartido experiencias muy personales de su vida con sus estudiantes. Hizo un llamamiento a la comunidad estudiantil, a no perder ninguna oportunidad de servir al Señor, y a sus instituciones, para encontrar satisfacción en sus vidas. *La charla fue seguida por un video de una excelente película titulada "Vivir con Dios es verdadera educación", en las visitas a Kodaikanal por Bhagavan Baba con un séquito de alumnos seleccionados ; fue elaborado por el equipo de Radio Sai del Taller Digital. Reunió a algunos de los mejores momentos vividos por Bhagavan con sus estudiantes en la estación de la colina pintoresca. La presentación contiene una entrevista de un estudiante en cuya presencia el Señor había revelado que no era el mérito de las vidas pasadas que les había dado la calificación de estar en su presencia, pero fue sólo una manifestación de su gracia divina que lo había hecho posible. La presentación también mostró algunos momentos del curso de los programas de verano anterior, que se organizaron en la presencia de Bhagavan, por primera vez en Brindavan y, posteriormente, en Ooty. Se mostraron los estudiantes que van a la ciudad como una unidad de limpieza, para sorpresa de los demás. Es representado muy claramente, cómo el servicio a los demás se ha convertido en la segunda naturaleza de los estudiantes y lo bien que siguen sirviendo a la sociedad, incluso después de pasar fuera de la institución. Esto se reafirmó a través de entrevistas de algunos de los empleadores de los estudiantes, que colmaban de alabanzas por el desempeño de los estudiantes debido a su actitud positiva, deseo de aprender y un sentido y propósito en la vida. *El último orador de la jornada fue un ex alumno del Instituto del campus de Anantapur , la Sra. Nirmala Shekhar, quien habló sobre el tema "Un ideal Sai Estudiante y su papel en la sociedad". Pregunto a los estudiantes cual fue el primer paso para hacer algo? Un estudiante respondió que se trataba de confianza en uno mismo. Citando a Swami, dijo que Bhagavan había dicho que era "querer hacer algo". Ella sentía que la esencia del curso de verano, fue despertar la conciencia de la presencia de Dios en nuestra vida. Hizo un llamamiento a todos, para ver a las coincidencias, como la artesanía de Dios, forma en que Dios escogió para ser anónimo. Finalizó su charla interesante con una experiencia de cómo una vez Swami le salvó la vida. *Hacia el final, algunos de los veteranos, los funcionarios salientes, son felicitados por los titulares nuevos. Esto incluye el Prof. Jayalakshmi Gopinath, ex director del Campus de Anantapur, el Prof. Ramamoorthy, ex jefe de SBMAF - Prashanti Nilayam, Sri BN Narasimhamurthy, Guardián saliente de Brindavan Campus. Students and staff from all the Campuses of the Institute participated in this programme. DAY 3 (12th June 2011): The proceedings of the third and final day of the summer course in Indian Culture and Spirituality began with Veda chanting from the Holy Scriptures by a group of staff and students of the Institute at 8.30 a.m. in the Poornachandra auditorium in Prasanthi Nilayam. Dr. Naren Ramji, the fourth Registrar of the institute and an alumnus of the institute was the first speaker of the day who spoke on the topic, “Vision and Mission of SSSIHL”. The learned speaker quoted expansively from the defining discourses of Bhagawan that laid the Vision of the Institute as bestowing both worldly knowledge as well as knowledge of the Self. He said that if the educated have to fruitfully play their role in the upliftment and betterment of the society, then they should first become better human beings, as true transformation only comes through a personal example. Expressing his views on the way Bhagawan Baba built the ethos of the Institute that today stands as the ideal to the whole world, he said that the Lord never overwhelmed the administrators with the complete idea of the masterpiece that He wanted to built, but held their hand to paint one stroke at a time. In the process, the Lord made it very clear that His medium of instruction is discipline, which is nothing but practice of doing the right thing at the right time in the right way. But this self-discipline cannot be forced from outside, but has to come from within to be rewarding in the way envisaged. To substantiate how Bhagawan sometimes forced His students to develop an inner connection with Him, he narrated a personal experience wherein the Lord when He withdrew Himself from them to teach them the efficacy of prayer. He encouraged the students to introspect in a spirit of enquiry as to why a ritual or a discipline has been espoused by Bhagawan for His students, to make best use of the same and make it a stepping stone for reaching Him. In this journey, the learned speaker asserted, we should have Saburi, i.e. patience with the right attitude, which is life-changing. This transformation, he affirmed was true freedom, where our inner peace and happiness does not depend on any externality. He concluded by saying that in the eyes of Bhagawan, there is a difference between a student of the Institute and His student and that we should all endeavour to become His students by putting into practice the teaching He so lovingly bestowed upon us. The second speaker of the day, Ms. Rajeshwari Patel, HoD, Department of English, Anantapur campus of the Institute, spoke on the topic, “Blending Science & Spirituality at SSSIHL”. The eloquent speaker started on an emotional note, saying that as in the 20th Century the upheavals of the times brought out the best in poetry, we the devotees of Bhagawan should offer our best, in our respective capacities as an offering to our omnipresent Lord. She reiterated that it was impossible to achieve happiness for humanity unless there was a concomitant increase in its wisdom, in harmony with its increase in knowledge. Referring to the moral and Spiritual challenges of the 20th Century, she held that unfortunately material progress has been conjoint with moral and Spiritual regression, resulting in net loss for humanity. She called upon the scientific community to take in its ambit the exploration of the universe within man to understand himself more holistically. In this respect she called upon the education fraternity to take the Vedanta as the benchmark of such a standpoint, exploring not only the kshetra, the outer world which is like a field, but also the kshetragya, the tiller of that field - God Himself. She congratulated the students of the hallowed institute to be in a system of education where values were diffused in the teaching of each subject, by the inspiration of Bhagawan Baba. She said that this is diagrammatically opposite to the strife between the Church and the scientific community in the 20th century, where the scientific community lacked a fundamental knowledge of the spiritual world and vice versa. The erudite speaker, quoting extensively from the doyens of English literature alleged that if we have to bridge the two worlds into a wholesome one, we have to steadily progress from the realm of the food – the annamaya kosha to the realm of Bliss – the Anandamaya kosha at the core of our being. This she said was the nature of Atma, defined by Bhagawan as the most fundamental, most elemental core of our beings. The next speaker for the day was Dr. T. Ravi Kumar, the newly appointed warden of the Brindavan campus of the Institute. In his eloquent speech on "Life sketch of Bhagawan - His role as an ideal Student and an ideal Master ", he shared from some of his beautiful moments spent with Bhagawan at Ooty. He reiterated to the student community that one must practice before teaching others, as was exemplified by Bhagawan in His life. He then recollected the incident where Bhagawan materialized a medallion with 100 Sanskrit shlokas embossed on it, depicting the future 18 centres, where His students would be the guiding forces. He said that the life of Swami has always been an open book and recalled how next year Swami had shared very personal experiences of His life with His students. He called upon the student community to never miss any opportunity to serve the Lord and His institutions to find fulfilment in their lives. The talk was followed by a an excellent video film titled, "Living with God is True education" on the Kodaikanal visits of Bhagawan Baba with an entourage of selected students was produced by the Radio Sai team of the Digital Studio. It brought together some of the finest moments spent by Bhagawan with His students in the picturesque hill station. The presentation contained an interview of a student in whose presence the Lord had revealed that it was not the merit of past lives that had given them the qualification of being in His presence, but it was only a manifestation of His Divine grace that had made it possible. The presentation also showed some moments from the earlier summer course programmes which were organised in the presence of Bhagawan, first in Brindavan and thereafter in Ooty. It showed students going into the town for a cleaning drive, much to the surprise of others. It depicted very clearly as how service to others has become the second nature of students and how well they continue to serve the society even after passing out of the institute. This was reaffirmed through interviews of some of the employers of the students who heaped praises on the performance of the students due to their positive attitude, desire to learn and a sense of purpose in life. The last speaker of the day was an alumnus of the Anantapur campus of the institute, Mrs. Nirmala Shekhar, who spoke on the topic “An Ideal Sai Student and her/his Role in Society”. She asked the students as to what was the first step in doing anything? A student replied that it was self confidence. Quoting Swami, she said that Bhagawan had said that it was ‘wanting to do something’. She felt that the essence of the summer course was awakening of the awareness of Lord’s presence in our life. She called upon everyone to watch coincidences as the handicraft of God - moments when God chose to be anonymous. She ended her interesting talk with an experience of how once Swami saved her life. Towards the end, some of the veterans, outgoing officials were felicitated by the new incumbents. This includes Prof. Jayalakshmi Gopinath, formerly Principal of Anantapur Campus, Prof. Ramamoorthy, formerly head of SBMAF - Prasanthi Nilayam, Sri BN Narasimhamurthy, outgoing Warden of Brindavan Campus, Prof. US Rao, outgoing Principal of Prasanthi Nilayam Campus and Dr. Siva Shankar Sai, outgoing Warden of Prasanthi Nilayam Campus. The programme ended with a presentation by some students on the lessons learnt. In the end, Arathi was offered to Bhagawan and Prasadam distributed.
