De los miles de colegios y universidades indias, sólo el Sri Sathya Instituto de Enseñanza Superior fue capaz de obtener la tan codiciada "A + +" de grado en 2002 . (El NAAC lleva a cabo su acreditación cada 5 años)
"El Concejo Nacional de Evaluación y Acreditación o NAAC", es un organismo autónomo de la Comisión de Becas de la Universidad con sede en Bangalore. Varias universidades tienen que obtener la acreditación cada cinco años. A pesar de que al principio se creo para premiar, es el sistema de calificaciones ahora.
Hay alrededor de siete criterios en los que los diferentes colegios son evaluados, al igual que las instalaciones y la infraestructura de investigación,y métodos de enseñanza, entre otras cosas.
Hay nueve grados: A + +, A +, A, B + +, B +, B, C + +, C + y C.
En el conjunto de la India, sólo hay una universidad que tiene A + +, es el Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior, de Prashanti Nilayam. Las subvenciones de la UGC y el reconocimiento de más cursos se basan en estos rangos
En el año 2007 , las universidades acreditadas en la India fueron 3.632, sólo dos Institutos recibió el más alto Grado de "A + +" : Sri Sri Sathya Sai Instituto de Enseñanza Superior y el Instituto Indira Gandhi de Investigación para el Desarrollo

There are nine grades: A++, A+, A, B++, B+,B,C++,C+, and C. In the whole of India, there is only one college which has A++, that is the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam. Grants from the UGC and recognition for more courses are based on these ranks
