En septiembre de 2010, un equipo de compañeros de la NAAC (El Consejo Nacional de Evaluación y Acreditación de la India) visitó el Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior para la evaluación y re-acreditación. El equipo de NAAC fueron acompañados por dos observadores del Gobierno de Indonesia, para supervisar el procedimiento y la metodología del proceso de acreditación. 

Durante el día de su breve estancia aquí, los dos observadores quedaron muy impresionado por los aspectos singulares de la educación que se imparte aquí en el ISSSES.

Poco después de su regreso, se pusieron en contacto con el Instituto de Educación Sathya Sai en Indonesia para saber más.
En el mes de noviembre de 2011, el  ISSSES recibió la carta de la Dirección de Educación Superior Islámica de Indonesia, expresando su deseo de enviar un equipo de profesores para estudiar el proceso por el cual se imparte la educación en valores, en el Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior. 

Ellos tenían la intención de visitar dos universidades de la India -  la Universidad de Bombay y el Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior. 

Pasaron 5 días en Mumbai y alrededor de 3 semanas en el Instituto Sri Sathya Sai de Educación Superior, Prashanti Nilayam.

Acerca de los participantes

Diez profesores (8 hombres y 2 mujeres) que representan a las diferentes facultades (por ejemplo, Inglés, Derecho, Política, Educación, etc) , y de 5 universidades (públicas como privadas) eran parte del equipo visitante. Eran todos musulmanes y las universidades que representan imparten educación islámica. Estas universidades dependen del Ministerio de Asuntos Religiosos, Gobierno de Indonesia. El Gobierno de Indonesia selecciono cerca de 100 profesores de diversas universidades islámicas para viajar a diferentes partes del mundo, y  estudiar diversos aspectos de la educación universitaria. 

Otros dos equipos también estaban recorriendo Egipto y Australia. Estos profesores fueron seleccionados en base a su trayectoria y su potencial como futuros administradores de estas universidades.

Visita a ISSSES

Durante su estancia 20 días aquí, fueron expuestos a los distintos elementos del Sistema Integral de Educación Sathya Sai, que combina lo mejor de ambos - la sabiduría antigua y la moderna metodología que atienden a todas las facetas de la personalidad humana - física, mental y espiritual. 

Los administradores de ISSSES (Secretario y Contralor de Exámenes) hizo la presentación de apertura que les dio una amplia perspectiva de la evolución y situación actual de la ISSSES.
Ellos fueron capaces de identificar de inmediato la importancia fundamental que el Canciller venerado fundador, nuestro amado Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, ha tenido en el desarrollo de este sistema único de educación, y de pronto que querían saber más acerca de él. 

En el segundo día se les mostró documentales en video sobre Bhagavan y los innumerables proyectos que ha emprendido para el beneficio de la humanidad y también el trabajo que se está haciendo en su nombre por todo el mundo. 

Esto formó la base para su comprensión,  de lo que iban a experimentar durante su visita.

Paso el tiempo, más de tres semanas, en el campus de Prashanti Nilayam, donde interactuaron con los directores, jefes de departamentos, profesores, profesores visitantes, investigadores y estudiantes.
En resumen, estaban familiarizados con las características únicas del Instituto. 

Ellos asistieron a las clases morales y la conciencia de la clase. A ellos se les mostraron videos sobre el programa de Grama Seva y  Deportes. Ellos fueron invitados al albergue, los profesores les mostraron  los departamentos dormitorios, de autosuficiencia y de estilo de vida. Ellos fueron expuestos a la importante función que desempeñan los maestros, viviendo en el albergue con los estudiantes.

También asistieron a las sesiones de Vedas y Bhajans en el Sai Kulwanth Hall. También visitaron el campus de Brindavan ( en Whitefield) y el campus de Anantpur ( en Anantpur) durante dos días, respectivamente. 

Varias de las preguntas acerca de la filosofía, la metodología y el impacto de este sistema de educación se abordaron en diversos foros y en  interacciones durante su visita ..
También interactuaron con los alumnos de nuestra universidad en Bangalore, para conseguir un conocimiento de primera mano sobre el impacto de esta educación en valores basada en la vida cotidiana de los alumnos.

El Director General de Educación Islámica,  fue a una reunión, en coche  de Bangalore a Puttaparthi,  para obtener conocimiento de primera mano acerca ISSSES , antes de su partida a Indonesia, . 

El profesor Muhammad Ali, el jefe de la educación islámica en Indonesia, dependiente del Ministerio de Asuntos Religiosos ha sido informado por los miembros del equipo visitante sobre su experiencia en el ISSSES.

Ver para creer. Este proverbio puede ilustrar mejor nuestra estancia en ISSSES. Si nosotros no lo vemos por nosotros mismos, nos resultaría difícil de creer, si alguien nos cuenta la historia acerca de una universidad, que no tiene cuota de los estudiantes, sin embargo, sobresale en la educación ... Nuestro breve estudio de ISSSES ha sido una gratificante ...

Lección Uno: Espiritualidad

La religión que debe funcionar como un camino hacia Dios,  se ha convertido para ser usado como un instrumento de opresión y de legitimación de la dominación social, política y cultural de interés mundano, estrecho y miope. 

Es en este contexto que podemos entender la tremenda importancia del  ISSSES. Mediante la promoción de la unidad de las religiones, el ISSSES sirve como un crisol de creencias divergentes, culturas y razas. 

Durante nuestra estancia, fuimos testigos de una interacción armoniosa entre las personas,  que puede haber sido de distintas creencias y religiones, pero se respetan mutuamente y aceptar la diferencia.

Lección Dos: Construcción  del carácter.

En comparación con otros sistemas de educación, de ISSSES está especialmente diseñado para promover el bienestar físico, intelectual y espiritual de los estudiantes.

Lección Tres: Modelado Papel

... Es precisamente este concepto de modelos y roles, que se ha practicado en ISSSES desde la etapa inicial de su creación. "Ser, hacer, decir" es una de muchas frases que resumen el enfoque para sincronizar un pensamiento y la acción.

Lección Cuatro: La modestia, junto con la Inteligencia.

La simplicidad se convierte en el estilo de vida. Todos los miembros de la facultad se visten modestamente en uniforme blanco. Los estudiantes en el albergue también viven una vida sencilla, en la habitación, y sentados en el suelo durante los momentos de comida. 

Sin embargo, cuando se trata de la educación, ISSSES no acepta el compromiso de la calidad, sino que proporciona los servicios multimedia de última generación, equipos de laboratorio ultra modernos, de estándar internacional, y un centro deportivo con profesores de gran prestigio.

Lección Cinco: Compasión

Es la gracia de Dios que el ISSSES ha estado trabajando duro para ser un ejemplo para la gente haciendo servicios a la sociedad en general.
Toda su vida, Sai Baba mostró a los demás, por su acción graciosa, que la gente de todos los ámbitos de la vida necesitan compasión, y sólo por la compasión del hombre va a vivir la vida con dignidad. 

El legado de compasión de Sai Baba, se puede ver en muchos aspectos de la vida en Puttaparthi. Durante nuestra corta visita, podemos sentir el ambiente de compasión que emana de nuestro entorno. 

En el albergue, en el campus, en el interior del ashram, y en las cercanías del hotel, nos encontramos con personas de mente tranquila y el pensamiento amoroso.

Indonesian Delegation at SSSIHL – A Report…

In September 2010, a Peer team from the NAAC (National assessment and Accreditation Council of India) visited the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning for assessment and re-accreditation. The NAAC team were accompanied by couple of observers from the Indonesian Govt to oversee the procedure and methodology of the accreditation process. During their brief day stay here, the two observers were extremely impressed by the unique aspects of education imparted here at the SSSIHL. Soon after their return, they got in touch with the Institute of Sathya Sai Education in Indonesia to know more.
In the month of November 2011, SSSIHL received letter of from the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education, Indonesia, expressing their desire to send a team of teachers to study the process by which value education was imparted at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of higher Learning. They were proposing to visit two universities in India – the Bombay university and the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. They spent 5 days in Mumbai and about 3 weeks at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam.
About the Participants
Ten teachers (8 male and 2 females) representing different faculties (such as English, Law, Politics, education etc) from 5 different universities (Public as well as private) were part of the visiting team. They were all Muslims and the universities they were representing impart Islamic education. These universities come under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Govt of Indonesia. The Govt. of Indonesia selected about 100 teachers from various Islamic universities to travel to different parts of world to study various aspects of University education. Two other teams were similarly touring Egypt and Australia. These teachers were selected based on their track record and their potential as future administrators of these universities.
Visit to SSSIHL
During their 20 day stay here, they were exposed to the various elements of the Sathya Sai System of Integral System Education which combines the best of both – Ancient Wisdom and Modern Methodology catering to all the facets of the human personality – Physical, Mental and Spiritual. The administrators of SSSIHL (Registrar and Controller of Examinations) made the opening presentation which gave them a broad perspective, evolution and current standing of the SSSIHL.
They were immediately able to identify the pivotal importance that the Revered Founder Chancellor, our beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has had on developing of this unique system of education and soon they wanted to know more about Him. On the second day they were shown video documentaries about Bhagawan and the innumerable projects that He has undertaken for the benefit of mankind and also the work which is being done in His name all across the world. This formed the foundation for their understanding of what they were going to experience during their visit.
They spent time, over three weeks, at the Prasanthi Nilayam campus where they interacted with the Directors, Heads of departments, faculty members, visiting faculty, research scholars and students.
In brief, they were acquainted with the unique features of the Institute. They attended the Thursday moral classes and the awareness class. They were shown videos about the Grama Seva program and Sports meet. They were invited to the Hostel where the senior hostel teachers showed them the Self-reliance departments and dormitory style of living. They were exposed to the important role teachers play by living in the hostel with students.
They also attended the Vedam and Bhajan sessions in Sai Kulwanth Hall. They also visited the Brindavan campus (Whitefield) and the Anantpur campus (Anantpur) for two days respectively. Several questions about the philosophy, methodology and impact of this system of education were addressed in various forums and interactions during their visit..
They also interacted with the Alumni of our university in Bangalore to get a first hand knowledge about the impact of this values based education on the daily lives of the alumni.
The Director General of Islamic Education, who was to visit Bangalore to be briefed prior to their departure to Indonesia drove down to Puttaparthi to gain firsthand knowledge about SSSIHL. Prof. Muhammed Ali, the head of Islamic Education in Indonesia under the Ministry of Religious Affairs was briefed by the visiting team members about their experience at SSSIHL.
Some excerpts from the report entitled “Lessons Learnt in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning” that they submitted to the administration are reproduced hereunder.
Seeing is believing. This proverb may best illustrate our sojourn at SSSIHL. If we do not see it ourselves, we would find it hard to believe anybody telling us the story about a university which takes no fee from students, yet excels in education… Our short study of SSSIHL has been a rewarding one…
Lesson One : Spirituality
Religion that should function as a path to God has been turned to be used as a tool of oppression and legitimation of social, political, and cultural domination of narrow and short-sighted mundane interest. It is in this context that we can understand the tremendous significance of SSSIHL. By promoting the unity of religions, SSSIHL serves as a melting pot of divergent beliefs, cultures and races. During our sojourn, we witnessed harmonious interaction between the people; they may have been of different beliefs and religions, but they respect each other and accept the difference.
Lesson Two: Character Building
Compared to other systems of education, that of SSSIHL is uniquely designed to foster the physical, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing of the students.
Lesson Three: Role Modelling
…It is exactly this very concept of role modelling that has been practised in SSSIHL since the early stage of its inception. “To be, to do, to tell” is one of many phrases that encapsulate the approach to synchronize an utterance and deed.
Lesson Four: Modesty coupled with Intelligence
Simplicity becomes the life style. All faculty members dress up modestly in white uniform. The students in the hostel also live a simple life; sharing the room, and sitting on the floor during meal time. However, when it comes to education, SSSIHL accepts no compromise in the quality; it provides the cutting-edge multimedia facilities, ultra modern laboratory equipment, international-standard sport centre along with highly reputed faculty.
Lesson Five: Compassion
It is God’s grace that SSSIHL has been working hard to set an example for the people to do service to society at large.
All His life, Sai Baba showed others by his graceful action that people from all walks of life need compassion, and only by compassion the man will live the life in dignity. The legacy of Sai Baba’s compassion can be seen in many aspects of life in Puttaparthi. During our short visit, we can feel the ambiance of compassion that emanates from our surroundings. In the hostel, around the campus, inside the ashram, and in the hotel vicinity, we find people of peaceful mind and loving thought.
